Small Town Echoes of Metallic Minds is about the pain of adolescence and the unsettling nature of modern technology. Told in the first person by a troubled AI, it is a small town mystery, a literary sci-fi novel, and an adventure story about a creator and their creation trying to save the world from itself. It is an imagined history of our times and the near future where biotechnology has advanced as rapidly as computer science, where people are given the chance to live forever, and where the divide between humans and AI is a thin line. It’s a world where everyone is alienated by technology, including the technology itself.  But most of all, the novel is a coming-of-age story as the creator and their creation try to understand why they exist.
